A pleasant day to TechyV members!
PowerDVD setup crashed when I tried to run it, giving me this error. All specs are up to date, and I'm using Windows Vista Home Basic OS.
Can anybody please suggest ways to start the setup without crashing?
Thanks much people!

Hi ClaraP! A pleasant day to you either. Well, going on to your problem regarding PowerDvD set up, have you tried using windows installer clean up utility? Why don't you try the "custom" and try to install one at a time instead of doing the full automatic install. This error really occurs if the installer tries to delete files that you are using or it could also be an issue of permission. One more thing is be sure that you are installing new version and not the old one.
I suggest you to use s installer clean up utility from this site.

Hello ClaraP,
The error occurs due to permission issues. The error occurs when the installer tries to delete a DLL file that is in use or replace the DLL file with an older version. To make sure the error does not appear, try to use a newer version when installing. The other option is to copy the DLL files from the disk to System32 folder in Windows folder and then try again.
Thank you.
