PowerPoint always trying to repair files

I have Microsoft Office 2013 and whenever I use PowerPoint, it keeps telling me that it is attempting to repair some files that I do not think they have a problem. Even the other day, I copied a file that was working well on my friend’s laptop and when I tried opening it with mine, PowerPoint kept trying to repair it for like 20 mins and eventually failed to open it. What could be the cause of this problem? Is there an easy way that I could implement to repair it? Please advise me how to go about it.

MS office has different versions like MS Office 2007, Ms Office 2010, Ms Office 2013 etc. Sometimes, a file created in one version doesn't work properly in another version. Though, a lower version file should technically always work well in a higher version software/ program. Hence, just check once if MS Office 2013 is properly installed in your system.Try to change the file name with .pptx/ .pptm.If none of these helps, why don't you use the older version of Office? Like 2010? There are hardly any differences.

Try to unblock the file. Though you must not have blocked it, Microsoft has the ability to do so, to prevent those files from damaging your computer.

You can resolve this by,

1. Go to that file on your computer.

2. Right click on it and select properties from the drop down menu that appears.

3. In Properties window, go to General.

4. In it, you will have Attributes and security. Next to security there will be a checkbox, labeled Unblock.

5. Check it and click Ok. Your file must now open.
