Hi T3d4ks,

Converting files (PowerPoint Presentations in your case) to PDF can be a breeze, if you know how to do it. You just have to know the right tools needed to accomplish the task. I’m not really sure if you’re using a Windows based machine or Mac OSX, but we’ll tackle both just in case.

Your computer needs to have what they call a “PDF Printer”. It allows printing to PDF from any source, ranging from images/photos, whole web sites, to any type of document.

  1. Adobe’s Acrobat Professional, aside from being a PDF reader and editor has a built-in PDF printer driver that allows conversion from PowerPoint presentations. It has versions for both Windows and Mac. Adobe PDF is added on the list of Printers for both platforms.
  2. Not to be outdone by Adobe, Nitro PDF Professional is being lauded as a complete Acrobat Pro replacement that also has its own PDF printer driver, allowing one to print to PDF from office documents, illustrations, and presentations. It’s as simple as picking Nitro PDF Creator from your choice of printers, and printing straight to PDF in a flash.
  3. Now if you are an open source advocate, then PDF Creator http://www.pdfforge.org/pdfcreator is just the thing for you. It’s a tool that installs a PDF printer driver, allowing any program that can print a choice to select it as a default printer. It lists itself as a printer on “Devices and Printers”, and indeed does the job pretty well.
  4. Conversion on Linux surprisingly is far easier than anything Windows has. It contains “Print to file” features allowing users a choice between PDF, postscript, and SVG. All one has to do is pick a PowerPoint presentation, click on “File>Print”, choose output format PDF, name the file, and “print”. A “Document Viewer” views the file in PDF format. Open Office also has a PDF converter for those who desire open source applications.
  5. Mac OSX users have nothing to worry about as well. It has built-in PDF printing support for anyone wishing to convert . All it takes is clicking on the “File>Print” tab, choosing the PDF dropdown selection to “save as PDF, naming the file, and printing to PDF. Just like Linux.
After you’ve done the conversion from Windows/Linux/Mac, it’s time to transfer the saved PDF file to your iPad. Just dock the device, copy or sync, and you’re ready to edit the PDF file on your iPad. Easy.

NOTE: If you want custom animations on your PDF file during the conversion process just follow this guide at the link.

You can just install a PowerPoint to PDF converter for such problem, but it only converts them in the PDF format and the PDF file is not to be edited. So if you only want to convert them in PDF, then you can install PowerPoint to PDF converter.

Now the condition you tell here, is that you want them in your IPAD and want to edit them. Dear I want to clearly tell you that any PDF file is not for edit. In any case you can only copy, search, highlight and can add notes but I have never heard that PDF is for editing.

If you need an edit then try some other software which is also available.
