Which operating system among OS X Lion or OS X Snow Leopard is preferable  to be installed on my laptop to transfer my iCloud contacts and file to it?

Preferable OS between OS X Lion or OS X Snow

System specifications for OS X Lion:

• Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i7, Core i5, Core i3, Xeon or higher processor
• Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later
• 2 GB RAM
• 7 GB available hard drive space

System specifications for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard:

• Intel processor
• 1 GB RAM or higher recommended
• 5 GB available hard drive space
• CD or DVD drive

It doesn’t matter which operating system you wish to install as long as your hardware can handle or is compatible with the requirements of the operating system, there should be no problem. Check your computer’s hardware specifications base on the above system requirements of the two Mac operating systems.

If your hardware doesn’t meet these system requirements, you will have to upgrade before installing any of these operating systems.
