Prevent Thunderbird download from installing

Without my permission, T-bird downloaded an update (it hasn’t done that before; it always asks me but it didn’t this time). I do not want this update but it says it will install when I restart T-bird. Is there a way to prevent the install? Are there files or something on my PC that I can delete to stop this?

Prevent Thunderbird download from installing

It is because the automatic Software update is turned on in the settings. You can change it by following steps:

1. Go to Tools

2. Click on Options , then Advanced

3. Go to Update and turn off the automatic update.

After making the above said settings, it would not do the software update without your permission.
