I have just upgraded my operating system from windows XP to windows 7(64 bit) and I have a xerox phaser 6180mfp.

I downloaded the 64 bit driver and installed it. And the test page printed out just fine during installation.

The problem now that I am trying to print a document from word 2003 and from internet explorer 8 and all I get is a message that:

Print driver host for 32bit applications

Print driver host for 32bit applications has

stopped working

Windows is collecting more information about the problem.

This might take several minutes….

The system cannot solve the problem and I can't find anything helpful on the Microsoft support site. If anyone faced this problem before please tell me what can I do ?

Can anyone help me?

Hi,

This error that you are talking about occurs because of a flaw in Windows 7 OS, this doesn't make Windows 7 a bad OS as these error's often occur in new or developing OS. This should not have turned up if you were installing Windows update regularly. Never mind here is the solution.

Step 1:Remove this Printer.

1. Click Start > Devices and Printers.

2. Find the printer in the window and remove it by right clicking it and choosing Remove Device.

Step 2: Reinstall it(on another port)

1. In Devices and Printers click Add a local printer.

2. Choose “Create a new port” with Standard TCP/IP port in Type of port.

3.For Hostname or IP address write the printers IP.

4. Check “Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use”

5. And complete the rest.

Step 3:Clean Out The Registry

Use this software to clean registry:

Hi!
You mentioned that your new Operating system is Windows 7 (64 bit) and then you’re having an error saying
"Print driver host for 32bit applications
Print driver host for 32bit applications has
stopped working
Windows is collecting more information about the problem.
This might take several minutes…."
This only means that you are having compatibility issues. You are trying to install a driver of your printer (32 bit) which is not compatible with your system (64 bit)
To fix your problem all you need to do is to download a new driver for your printer that compatible for your Operating system.
I'm pretty sure that this will work.

Cheers!
