hi
I have an HP Pavilion DV6000. Lately, the battery just die suddenly. I can use the laptop if I connect it with AC power, but I just run a test, while the power meter show that the battery is charged to 100%, when I unplug the power cord and let it run on the battery power, the laptop shutdown without warning within 5 minutes
The battery is a Li-ion battery
help me please

Battery Issue on HP Pavilion DV6000
Hi Thomas,
Here are some possible reasons and solutions to the problem you’re having:
– Discharge your battery fully and after that, overcharge it for around 5 hours
– Check the power adapter as this may be the cause why the battery is not charged (even when it states that it’s 100% charged). You can do this by turning on the laptop using just the laptop power adapter. If the laptop does not turn on, charge the laptop battery while the laptop is turned off. If this works, then you need to replace your power adapter to an AC adapter for your laptop
– Go to Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System > Hardware > Device Manager. Under batteries, right click on the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery and select uninstall. After that, go to Actions on the menu bar and choose “scan for hardware changes”.
– For future reference, make it a habit to remove the battery after turning off your laptop
Thanks.

Battery Issue on HP Pavilion DV6000
Thomas Morse,
Unfortunately, your HP Pavilion DV6000's battery's life is not that good. This laptop has a battery issue based from reviews. Your laptop may has be the same problem as the other owners. Your laptop is not charging anymore. It might have been overcharged and not functioning well.
-
You can instead replace it with a new one.
-
You can take a look at this website.
-
They offer batteries for your notebook with different prices from different distributors.
-
And this website offers to ship from all over the world.
-
Just a tip if ever you get a new one, when you are using AC connection, remove the battery first so it will not be overcharged.
