Hi Bryan Edwards,
This unexpected problem has come upon a lot of users already. Suddenly, making your computer crawl pretty slow without even knowing a thing about how it happened, or what caused this. Rest assured, there are a number of ways anyway on how to fix this kind of mishap. Check and manage the processes that are currently ongoing on your task manager. Sometimes, unwanted processes are causing this like for example svchost.exe. To get rid of it, disable automatic updates on your computer. Instead it, manually download and install the latest updates available for your computer. Besides that, some registry issues might be causing all of this. Use popular registry cleaners to get rid of the mess. And the least reason could be in your hardware, maybe it is too dusty. Try to clean sometimes too. Use a dust cleaner, a vacuum or some sort of cleaner.

This is not new to me because I encounter this most of the time on my computer. This kind of problem has many reasons. This is sometimes associated with one of your startup programs or the programs you allowed to start together with Windows when it is booting up. Like in my case after booting the system, there is no activity yet on the processor. But after a few minutes the CPU usage will begin to climb and will stay that way for several minutes. And this makes the system slow.
But this doesn’t happen always and only happens from time to time. To check which program uses too much CPU, press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC to launch Windows Task Manager. Go to “Processes” tab then locate which program uses too much CPU processing. Select it then click “End Process” to terminate the program. But make sure that it is not associated with Windows or else your system might become unstable. If this problem is caused by one of your applications, I’m sure it only happens from time to time and not regularly.
But if it does happen on a regular basis like every time you start your computer and the CPU usage stays that way for good then there must be something wrong. First launch the Windows Task Manager as described above. If by any chance you cannot open it and a dialog box appears saying that the Windows Task Manager is disabled, this is one sign of being infected. If your antivirus is still running, try updating it then run a full system scan on your entire hard drive. But most of the time at this stage of infection, all options are disabled including the antivirus. In this case, the last thing to do is to format your hard drive and install Windows again. Nothing beats a fresh installation after being infected rather than simply cleaning it and still uses it after.
