I am trying to install adobe photoshop pro to my computer. After a while of starting the installation process it says 'installation failed'. My operating system is windows 7.

Does adobe photoshop pro support windows 7?

If it does then what could be the reason of failed installation.

You need to turn-off your anti-virus security application first before starting to install Adobe Photoshop in your computer system. If you already tried to install it in your system, uninstall it properly and make sure that you no files associated with adobe Photoshop is left in your hard-drive, otherwise you will be interrupted in the middle of your installation process. Use uninstaller software so that you can be assured that no files associated with adobe are left behind in your system. There are many free uninstaller software in the net.

Hello Jordon,

To resolve the issue you are getting when installing Photoshop you will need to do the following:

  • You will need to first of all log on to your computer as the Administrator and then try installing Photoshop and see if that will work.
  • If it fails, you will need to open its lo file that will be located somewhere like here: C:Program Files(x86)Common filesAdobeInstallers
  • You will need to find a string that says the following: "Error 1402: cannot open key …"
  • After that open the registry editor you have, and then go to HKLMsoftwaremicrosoftwindowscurrentversioninstalleruserdatas-1-5-18components.
  • You will need to find a key that has got a number specified in the Adobe log, and then get rid of all its parameters.
  • Try reinstalling Photoshop after that.

Regards,

Carl
