Problem installing Blackberry Desktop Software version 5.0.1
Hello there! This is unlikely to be a fault of the Blackberry app. This is generally a bug in the Windows OS usually created by the previous or non updated versions of Desktop manager. Uninstall your Desktop Manager and use a reliable registry cleaner utility to uninstall all the related registry files of Desktop Manager. You may use Revo Uninstaller (www.revouninstaller.com) which can complete uninstall any utility including the program remnants and registry files. Then install the Blackberry app and an updated desktop manager. This should solve the problem. You may also report the matter to the Blackberry team which will help them come with more better versions in the next updates. Hope your problem gets solved soon. Best of Luck!

If you need to install drivers for your BlackBerry Smartphone on your computer, you need to install the BlackBerry software depending on the OS or operating system of your device. The BlackBerry software is in two versions: the BlackBerry Desktop Software and the BlackBerry Link. If you have a BlackBerry Smartphone that runs on BlackBerry 7.1 OS or earlier, you need to download the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
It supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Windows 8.x and Windows 10 are not supported. For Mac users, you can download the BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac. If your BlackBerry Smartphone runs on BlackBerry 10 OS, you need to download the BlackBerry Link. It supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.x.
Windows 10 is not supported. It requires Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 so make sure to install it first.
