Problem with my Microsoft Word 2007

I am using windows 7 OS and when I am trying to open some word files I get a error message.

When I try to open a file it says "Word failed reading from this file".

I don't know what to do. Using Word is an essential part of my work,

someone please help me with this problem.

Problem with my Microsoft Word 2007

 

Is your file coming from a removable media or from a network drive? If the error message is like the image below,:

then try reinserting your removable media or restore your network connection(if file is from a network drive). If the error still persists, try copying it into your hard disk and then open it again.

Other options could be:

• Try the Open and Repair feature of MS Word. See below image on where to find the Open and Repair:

• Try reading the file in WordPad. It can open .doc files but you may lose some formatting; however, that will somehow tell you that your file is okay.

An important note is to not save directly or even open directly from a removable hard drive because there are chances that the operation will fail or the file will be corrupted. Copy the file into your local hard drive instead and then copy it back to your removable hard drive if desired.
