Problem occurred error when installing Norton Hotfix

Hi,

I was trying to install a Norton hotfix for my antivirus software when I received this error message.  I was installing for Norton Internet Security 2009 and have Admin rights to the PC.  So I wondered why I got this error.  Anyway, I searched the web but found no solution.  I chanced upon this forum and hoped that someone could help.  Any advice on how to fix the problem? 

Norton Hotfix

A problem has occurred:

-This tool only supports internet Security 2009

16.5.0.234 or 16.5.0.135 and Norton 360 3.0.0.134 or 3.0.0.135.

– You must have Administrator rights on this computer.

Howdy Travisg,

Please follow the instructions below to be able to solve your issue:

1. Open Norton Virus control panel
2. Select live run update
3. Depending on the version of your computer it will vary the location live run update
4. Restart your computer after running live run update
5. Your Norton antivirus subscription should be verified
6. Open control panel program
7. Verify the number of days remaining of your subscription
8. And then select new product
9. Restart your computer in SAFE MODE

This should help you solve your issue as mine. I already tried using this solution and it worked perfectly.

Problem occurred error when installing Norton Hotfix

Hi,

First check your OS will supports for the Hotfix. If the OS is supported, go to the Norton Antivirus control panel and run the live updates. Next restart the computer.  Verify the antivirus subscription and select the Hotfix software. Restart the computer again. If you can restart in safe mode, It is better.
