Problem playing video files on Mac OS 9

Hi guys. I have a problem trying to play .WMV files on my iMac. There is no audio, and the video display window turns black when I try playing the files using Microsoft Media Player. What is the best mac os 9 video codec that I can install that can play the files flawlessly?

Hi Guy,

 I have solution for your problem as you know Microsoft provides support for .wmv files by providing windows media player for MAC. So, they have also provided codec for MAC based on Intel.

This codec is known as Flip4Mac and its windows media component for QuickTime.

Microsoft has released some tools for fixing up issues like yours. You have to pick up the tool which is suited for you. After you can go through  this https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/products/windows link and download Optimized for high-definition playback for your Mac.
