Problem to send the command to program

I’ve installed Microsoft Office 2010 on my pc. Whenever I give double click on an Excel file with a view to opening it, it shows the following error message:

‘There was a problem sending the command to the program’.

I don’t know why this problem is generated on my pc. Any help to solve this problem will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Problem to send the command to program

 

Double-click on EXCEL file means auto open the EXCEL software and then the file. Can you open the EXCEL from the start menu? If no, then you have some error with the EXCEL software. Try repairing the software with the install CD. If yes, then you will find the command prompt arguments excel.exe followed by the excel file.xls . If you are able to open the file using the command prompt then you are at liberty to do the work as usual. If you can’t do by the command prompt then type the above at Start à run.

Enlist the Microsoft excel installed directory in the Environmental path.

You must install the latest antivirus.
