Hi,

I have the latest version of Ubuntu installed in my 32 bit desktop machine, i.e. Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.I have Google Chrome as my default browser installed. When I visit web pages having streaming video files using Google Chrome, a message prompts on my screen telling me missing desired plug-in.

This error specially occurs when I try to play .WMA/.WMV extension files. I am thinking what do I need to install, in order to play streaming videos with audio correctly.

Please guide my friends.

Hi,

You have to go here:

Code: in the address bar.

And disable both "VLC Multimedia Plug-in" and "VLC Multimedia Plug-in" if they exist.

That should fix the problem.

To know more and get the latest Google Chrome.

Thanking you.

Hello,

It looks like your Chrome is old or backdated. So it can’t play the media files.

First of all, download the latest Chrome.

If that doesn’t solve the issue, you can use Windows Media Player HTML5 extension for Chrome. This is an extension that runs video and audio files through Windows Media Player.

But unfortunately, Windows Media Player lacks of some codecs. So you can download K-Lite Codec Pack. It will install codecs to be associated with Windows Media Player. So your web files also can be viewed easily through Windows Media Player!

Enjoy!
