Does anybody know how to configure Exchange Federation Trust?
Can you please teach me a step by step procedure on how to configure it? It will really be of great help.
This is the first time I will configure an Exchange Federation Trust.
We share some users’ free/active information with another company.
Both companies are using SPI Exchange 2010.
I thought that both companies need to configure their Exchange Federation.
Procedure in Exchange 2010 SP1 Federation Configuration
Here is a procedure for configuring exchange federation trust using EMC:
First you will need permissions to be able to perform this procedure.
Check the permissions you need here: Exchange and Shell Infrastructure Permissions.
Once you have the permissions, you will proceed as follows:
-
Click Organization Configuration in the in the console tree.
-
And then locate the action pane, and click New Federation Trust.
-
Navigate to the New Federation Trust page, and there you will need to click New. A certificate for the federation trust will be automatically created which has the Microsoft Federation Gateway and it will be able to deploy the self-signed certificate to the Exchange servers that you are using in your organization. The default name that is allocated to new federation trust is: Microsoft Federation Gateway.
-
Thereafter you will go to the Completion page, review statuses and then click Finish to close the wizard.
