Do I need to eliminate the current LCS Manager and Accessibility Proxies hosting server before setting up the OCSR2 Manager & Part server?
Can I do the side-by-side installation and eliminate the LCS Manager & AP after I ensure that the OCS R2 Manager & Part Hosts are operating well with the current LCS pool?
Procedure for installing OCSR2 Manager & Part server?

Hi Athan,
You don't need to eliminate Live Communication Server Manager because Office Communication Server can support LCS with IM communication. The IM 8.4 integration architecture with LCS/OCS changed so that IM manager is not a proxy between LCS/OCS IM client, the result would be the IM Manager installer changes the listening ports. Look the procedure on IM implementation guide. IM 8.4 can also treat unregistered LCS/OCS as external users. On this setting, the messages between two external users create exception on the event log. See this link for more information, Enterprise Support – Symantec Corp
You can also go to www.nextplane.net. Nextplane offer a federation solution that supports co-existence of LCS/OCS, lync, Sametime and other UC flatform.Â
