Procedures om ram stick fix

Hello to everybody out there.
I had purchased 2gb of ram but it is not working at present. I am about to use my PC or my daily task but something happened that upon pressing start button of my PC it would automatically turn off after 5seconds.  I tried to solve this on my own and I found it out that my PC will boot when ATX 12V is plugged out. It will boot but you could see nothing on screen.  I took out one stick of RAM out of the two and plugged in ATX 12V wire and my PC is running.  I haven’t tried changing my sticks of ram but now my PC would boot with one stick alone. Is there a way to ram stick fix? So that I can utilize my two sticks. I have no idea what could have caused that. If anybody could be of assistance, that would be swell.

Hi Jojy,

If the new ram stick you have just purchased was checked, and should be compatible with the ddr on your motherboard, then the best way to solve this is to return your purchase and get it replaced, immediately. Otherwise, try rubbing a regular eraser on the gold contact points and clean up the residue. Try connecting the ram to the board. If that still doesn't work, try changing their locations.
