Hello, for your recommendations please.
What is product activation and how is it advantageous to my computer, if I use it?
Will there be any modifications from Product Activation’s version, when I use Windows XP?
Do I have to upgrade my computer?
If yes, is it better to install a new one, like Windows Vista?
Will I have to restore and save my documents and files and make configuration again?

Product activation is a process to let the software inventor/provider to know of his work being used somewhere and get feedback from his customers. For the customers a licensed software can be very useful in the specific sector, it was bought for use. There are many operating systems like windows,mac,apple,etc.
There are programs for each one. In Windows,the XP is the most efficient with software than the others. So I think almost all software are compatible with XP,so you wont be need to upgrade you system to Vista. But if you have a software which is compatible with Vista and you want to use it,then you will have to install Vista. Before you format your C drive(where all windows files are usually located),make sure to back up your important files in other drives where it is safe,otherwise you will lose them.

In the Microsoft Windows operating system, the operating system needs to be activated to make sure you are using a genuine version and you can only have a genuine copy if you buy it or buy a license. This protects the product from counterfeiting or protects you from using pirated copies. In normal applications, activating the program allows you to use the product with all features activated.
Applications are normally offered as free trial which allows users to test the program with all features activated. When the trial period ends, all or some of the features will be disabled until you activate the product. You can activate the product by buying a license. Once you buy a license and register the product, all features will be restored back.
