Hello Expert friends,

I have Avira Anti-virus in my computer; it was working well without any major issue. I changed the settings to stop the ads notifications from Avira Anti-virus, after this I did not get any notification. But the problem is now I am getting this error message from the group policy. Why this error is coming up? Please help me to solve this error. Thanks.

First of all revert back to your old settings for Avira. Then follow the following steps in order to stop receiving ad notifications and group policy related error notifications.

In vase of Windows 7 or Vista follow the following steps:-

1) From Avira system tray icon go to "Configure Avira Free Antivirus" and enable the expert mode. Traversed through General then Security then Product Protection and uncheck "Protect files and registry entries from manipulation". Exit from Avira application.

Now locate the “avnotify.dll” and “ipmgui.exe” files. They should be found somewhere under C:Program Files (x86)Avira folders.

2) Right click and go to property page of the exe file and select security tab. Edit the group or username “SYSTEM”. Now Put a checkmark under the DENY column against “Read and execute” and confirm the change. Ensure that you repeat this step for both the exe files.

3) again open Avira and Re-check back the "Protect files and registry entries from manipulation" in General then Security then Product Protection, which was unchecked during step-1.
