Hello,

I have been using Windows XP SP2, 32-bit operating system with MIE Software.

The application is written in MS Access, and it passes instructions to MS Access.

 

 

While usig the application I get the following error

 

The Program has performed illegal operation and will be shut down.

 

If the problem persists, contact the program vendor." 

 

Please help me guys.

Hello Karen,

The error you are getting usually occurs in the event where the attributes of any or all of the Outlook Express *.dbx mail files have been declared to be read only.

To resolve it, you will need to get rid of the read-only attribute from the Outlook Express *.dbx mail files using the following procedure:

1. You will need to click Start, and then point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
2. After that you will go to the Named box and then type *.dbx.
3. Iin the Look in box, you will need to click Local hard drives (C:), and then click Find Now.
4. For each of the *.dbx file that is found, you will just right-click the file, and then click Properties, and after that get rid of the Read-only check box.
5. Lastly you will click Apply, and then click Close.
