Hi guys,

Have a look at the error message below. I clicked on the Publishing Tab of Symantec Backup Exec Remote Agent Utility and received the error message. It failed to obtain settings for Remote Agent Publishing from the registry.

If you have any idea for the issue, please help.

Publishing Tab of Symantec Backup Exec Remote Agent Utility getting error message

One possible cause to this error is the Remote Agent for Windows­ Systems (RAWS) service is not started.

Do the following steps:

1. Confirm the latest version of the RAWS is installed on media server and remote machine.
2. Ensure the RAWS Service is started.
3. Add the IP Address of the Media Server to the Publishing Tab (If this Works, check DNS in your environment)
4. Grant Full Control Permissions for the Administrators, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE|SymantecBackup Exec For Windows
5. Restart the Backup Exec Remote Agent(BERA) Service on the remote computer.
6. Launch the BERA Utility and click Publishing Tab.
7. If the same error appears, uninstall RAWS, reboot, and then reinstall RAWS. Confirm also that everything is configured per steps 2 to 5 above.
