Hello. I am looking forward to getting a good Smartphone without android as the OS. I want to know more about the Microsoft-Nokia Smartphones. Are they still in production? Is it a good idea to opt for one at this stage?

Purchasing A Microsoft-Nokia Smartphone In Current Scenario

Hi. Microsoft and Nokia entered the Smartphone market together in 2011 to counter the increasing popularity of Android OS. Microsoft ended up buying Nokia in 2014 and started producing the Lumia series one of the most popular phones having Windows as the OS. But, the introduction of Windows 10 and the inability to give continued support led the company downhill. In the end, production stopped in December 2016.

The phones are still available to be bought on 3^rd party websites and rates have significantly dropped hence. Even though the phones are still available in the market getting one wouldn’t be the best option as the updates are soon to be ceased and no support will be extended.
