Can I access Active Directory (AD) services to other third-party software? Where does the AD database located? What are those same folders which is similar to AD? And how can I copy the properties for AD distribution and DC?
Queries on accessing Active Directory
For sure you can be able to connect and access the active directory services to other third party software, but it is advisable that you just stick to the products that have been used and trusted for long for accessing that service which are the Microsoft products. Even when using the third party software you will need to connect to the directory services with the Microsoft’s version.
You can also use dirXML or LDAP to connect to other directories, and one example of an application that will enable that service to be used is the E-directory from Novell. You can still search the internet for some other third party software that can be used. There should be quite a number of them.
