Why is it that the e-mails I sent in Outlook go directly to the Sent folder of the Personal folder instead of the Sent folder located in the mail.mydomain.com IMAP folder? I’ve tried to turn on the IMAP in Horde to rectify the problem, but it doesn’t work. I have visited every forum and searched KBs but the posts there only discuss POP or the information doesn’t elaborate too much on the details about IMAP/Outlook 2003 setup. Can you please give me the procedures to take when setting up IMAP?
Query on sending emails in Outlook
Hi Clark,
I know a way to be able to solve your problem and the emails you sent will move to specific folder instead of going into your personal folder:
-
Go to MS outlook
-
Click tools
-
Go to Option
-
Click e-mail options
-
Remove the check into the small box right next to save the copies of messages in the folder sent item
-
Hit OK
-
Exit to windows
-
You should create a rule that all messages sent will be checked
-
You can configure rules and specify a folder where you want to save the sent items. Or if you don't want to save the sent items, you can just disable it.
I just did this method and it is very helpful. I hope it will help you fix your problem too.

Query on sending emails in Outlook
Hello,
While using the Microsoft Outlook service you can change the save options for your sent email. Your option is set to save in personal folder of IMAP folder rather than the sent folder.
Follow this steps:
1) On tools menu, click options and then click on preferences tab, click Email options.
2) Check the option "Save copies of messages in Sent items folder."
Hope this helps
