Question regarding the upcoming and famous Ubuntu Touch

Hello!

There has been a lot of interest in the Ubuntu on the phone, the Ubuntu Touch, and I, as well am interested about it and wanted to learn more about it. Will Ubuntu Touch be compatible with all existing phones, or will I have to buy new models in order to use it? Can anybody fill me in on this?

Ubuntu Touch is designed for mobile phones like Smartphones and Tablet PCs. The system requirements needed for Smartphones and Tablets are the following:

For entry-level Smartphone:

ARM Cortex A9, with 512MB to 1GB of memory, a flash storage of 4 to 8GB cMMC plus SD, it should be multi-touch.

For high-end superphone:

Quad-core ARM Cortex A9/Intel Atom, with minimum of 1GB memory, a flash storage of at least 32GB eMMC plus SD, it should be multi-touch and with full desktop convergence.

For tablet PCs with entry level consumer Ubuntu tablet:

Dual-core ARM Cortex A15, with preferred 2GB of memory, a flash storage of at least 8GB, the screen size should be 7 to 10-inches, it should be 4 fingers multi-touch.

For tablet PCs with high-end enterprise tablet:

Quad-core ARM Cortex A15/Intel x86, with preferred 4GB of memory, a flash storage of at least 8GB, the screen size should be 10-12-inches, it should be 4 fingers multi-touch and with full desktop convergence.
