Hello everyone,

I am currently using Quick Time player 7 on my PC and last night I’ve encountered a problem while trying to open an .avi file. I checked the disk space and there’s still much left but I’m still getting this error:

“The movie could not be sent to QuickTime, because of an unknown error. Please make sure that your project disk has write permission, and that you have enough disk space. (Error -50)”

movie could not be sent to QuickTime, because of an unknown error

Thank you very much for any help provided.

Hello Dan,

I will advise that you check to ensure that your primary hard drive, which is the drive that has the operation is not full. If it is full then back up some documents on an external hard drive, and deleted the files that you do not need anymore. Also run the disk clean up utility to clean up the disk on any queued errors and other unused files that might be taking up a lot of memory space.

Otherwise, the problem could be occurring as a result any missing codecs in your current version of QuickTime. I will advise that you get the latest version of QuickTime and install it and see if it will fix the problem.
