Hi guys. I just purchased and installed Intuit QuickBooks Premier Edition 2013 for tracking inventory in my business. The problem is, I can't use the program as it always crashes. Could the program be not compatible with my system? I'm on Windows 7 64 bit.
QuickBooks Premier Edition 2013 just crashes
Clotildec Hock,
1. According to your computer system, everything is okay but make sure you have enough disk space on your hard drive (c:) or the drive on which you have your operating system. A minimum of 2.5 GB disk space for the data file and the addition of 250 MB for Microsoft .NET 4.0 Runtime, this usually comes with QuickBooks installation CD. Other system requirements are 2 GB Ram.
2. The file (qbwuser.ini) at times it gets corrupted, therefore keep reinstalling the QuickBooks software and remember to backup your work all the time. Reinstall software up to 3 times.
3. If all that fails try to call the customer support for remote assistance.
QuickBooks Premier Edition 2013 just crashes
Hi Clotildec,
QuickBooks Premier is compatible with a 64 bit machine. I am wondering though if which part or when does your QuickBooks Crash? Does it happen when you open your inventory list or creating invoice or PO etc…? If this happens a lot then your first option should be to update the patch of your QuickBooks. DO NOT DELETE any QuickBooks related file as this might damage your company file.
Also, let me put it this way. QuickBooks is composed of 2 parts, your company file and the program itself. If your QuickBooks crash, do not jump into repairing or reinstalling the program. You have to determine which one has the problem. If you open your QuickBooks it will open your company file automatically so if it crashes the moment that you open it try forcing QuickBooks not to open your company file. You can do this by pressing then holding CTRL button when you launch QuickBooks until it will land to the “No Company File Open page” if you can reach this point then the problem might be your company file. Try opening a sample company file, if it works then go figure. If it won’t reach the “No Company File Open” page then the problem is with the program and as I’ve said your first option is to install the latest patch. Download the patch from Intuits Webpage.
Keep me posted! I happen to be quite familiar with this program.
