I had to back up my Firefox bookmarks a while ago when I had my laptop reformatted. Now, I want to access them but I don't know how to re-install the bookmarks.Â
Is the file of the bookmarks the one ending with .json?
Re-installing Firefox bookmarks after reformat
You are absolutely correct. The file ending with ".json" is the backup of the bookmarks you have created. Now in order to restore the backup you have to follow the following steps:
Step A:
Move your cursor to the Menu Bar.
Click on Bookmarks after which Bookmarks panel will be opened.
Then click on "Show All Bookmarks"
as shown:
Step B:
By now you will have your Bookmarks Library opened in front of yourself.
You have to move your cursor to "Import and Backup" and click on that due to which a drop down menu would be opened.
Then move your cursor to "Restore" & click on "Choose File"
as shown:
A window like this would be opened in front of you:
Here you have to locate your ".json" file & click on the "Open" button. Upon doing so your backup would be successfully restored here.
