That happens when the DNS servers you set on your computer has a problem. I think you should talk to your Internet Service Provider for their correct DNS servers. Normally, ISPs have their own private DNS servers. When your computer’s internet configuration is set to automatic, your computer will automatically fetch the DNS servers from your ISP.
If the DNS server setting is set to automatic, I’m not sure if you will get this error. This can happen if you manually set the DNS servers. Since the problem is with the DNS servers, simply set the correct DNS servers to fix the problem. Click “Start,” “Control Panel,” “Network and Internet Connections,” and then “Network Connections.” Right-click your network or connection and select “Properties.”
In the Local Area Connection Properties window, in “General” tab, scroll down and select “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” and then click “Properties.” In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window, in “General” tab, select “Use the following IP address” and then enter the details. You can get the details for this section by running the command without quotes “ipconfig” in the command prompt.
For the “IP address” field, use your default gateway and just change the last digit. Next, select “Use the following DNS server addresses” then enter your DNS servers. You can use Google Public DNS which is 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. You can also use OpenDNS which is 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220. When you are finished, click “OK” then try connecting again.
