Rebuilding the tree when the OfficeScan server is gone

Hi fellow techyv users,

I have a simple question. If the OfficeScan server is down or has been deleted, how do you recreate and rebuild the tree? I just want to be on the safe side and think of all the possible worst-case scenarios.

Will there be a back up? Will the system still function? Will I be able to rebuild the tree?

I need your help. Thanks a lot.

When the OfficeScan server is unable to query the Domain Controller, the web console will display the "Failed" status for AD synchronization. You will find detailed information will be logged in the OfficeScan system event log.

The only difference is that the previous tree will be kept. OfficeScan won’t remove the tree in some error situations.

The steps to restore the AD tree are the same as when you start an AD tree. You should only start Active Directory synchronization again. The contents in the HTTPDB folder are your database with all the Officescan settings.

Stop the “Officescan Master Service” service and then create a backup copy of this folder.

Please follow these steps to restore:

  1. End the following services:

    • OfficeScan Master Service
    • WWW Publishing Service
  2. Restore the backup database files under [<drive>:Program FilesTrend MicroOfficeScanPCCSRVHTTPDB].
  3. Restore the OfficeScan server and Firewall policy configurations:

    • Program FilesTrend MicroOfficeScanPCCSRV Ofcscan.ini
    • Program FilesTrend MicroOfficeScanPCCSRVPrivate Ofcserver.ini
    • Program FilesTrend MicroOfficeScanPCCSRV Ous.ini
    • Program FilesTrend MicroOfficeScanPCCSRVPrivatePFW directory
  4. From the command prompt, go to Program FilesTrend Micro OfficeScan folder and run the following command:

    • svrsvcsetup.exe -setprivilege
  5. Start the following services:

    • OfficeScan Master Service
    • WWW Publishing Service
