I was installing a software in my Win XP PC when I got this error message (see below). It seemed that the software used Visual C Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 which apparently wasn’t installed in my PC. Where do you suggest I can get or download Microsoft Visual C++?
Please help. Need the software installed badly.
Thanks.

I encounter this installation error before. At first I don’t know what to do because the error itself doesn’t tell what is wrong and what are going to do. But at the end of the day, I tried a lot of things just to make sure that it will work, and I tried to delete Japanese characters from the installation source, and after that I tried to install it again and it works, I tried also to contact support but they gave me a solution that did not work. I work for my self and then found it. Hope my solution will help yours.

Either you are installing a gaming software or you are going to use a programming software. So the first thing in this case is to see the system requirements for the program usage. You need to see the software requirements and then make sure that you full fills the user requirements. You need to check all the possible cases in this view. You will be then able to solve your problem. Also you can install a copy of Microsoft visual C++ form the network to solve this kind of problem this program will be available in Microsoft website. You need to go there and then you can find and install it there. Once you have all the system requirements you will be easy to install your software.

Use the following procedure to fix that problem:
-
On your computer, click on Start and then right-click on Computer, and then choose Properties.
-
You will then need to locate the Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings area, and there you will click Change settings. In case you are asked for an administrator password or to confirm the password then you will need to type your password, or you can as well ignore and just click Continue.
-
You will then click on Change Settings, and then you will choose the Advanced tab. After that you will click on the Environment variables button.
-
And then navigate to the User variables area, and from there click on the TEMP, and then click Edit.
-
Locate the Variable value box, and type there C:Temp, followed by clicking OK two times.
-
Apply the settings and then click OK.
-
You will need to follow steps 4 through 6 for the TMP environment variable also.
-
And then you will need to Confirm that the C:Temp folder exists, in case t does not, you will need to create one.
-
And then finally restart the computer, and then try installing the application again.

There are two versions of this application if you want to install it: one for 32-bit and one for 64-bit. You cannot install them interchangeably. The application has to go with the correct platform architecture. Like when you have 64-bit Microsoft Windows, you should download and install the 64-bit version only. That’s why it is important that you know the architecture of your operating system.
To check whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit, right-click “My Computer” on your desktop and select “Properties”. In “General” tab, you should see “64-bit”. If you see this, that means you have 64-bit Microsoft Windows. But if not, that means you have 32-bit Microsoft Windows. If you have 32-bit Microsoft Windows, download Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable x86.
If you have 64-bit Microsoft Windows, download Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable x64.
