I finished my paper last night and saved it in my USB flash drive so that I could bring it to school.
Upon opening my document, it came to me as a surprise that my work could not be opened and shows a selection of encoding of some sort.
How do I recover my work?

Recovery of documents using file conversion thru windows encoding
Yes, I also had the same type of problem some days earlier. This encoding error is caused by a virus which has infected your USB. This virus has damaged your files and these files are no longer usable. Sorry to say but you cannot use these files anymore and it is not possible to recover these.
Because of this virus your PC may be infected. It will be better to use a good Antivirus. Try to clean your USB and PC from viruses as soon as possible otherwise, it can cause more damage to your stored data. I will suggest you to use MICROSOFT Security Essentials as an Antivirus.
