Often some unwanted software adds a registry value for its existence to be maintained even if deleted and disables the registry editor for windows. What is the way around this?
This occurs when some unwanted software wants to prevent its key to be removed from the registry or has really been disabled by administrator for guest accounts. We can work around it using the following steps.
a) Press windows and R button to go to run and type gpedit.msc
b) Click on administrative templates and click on systems at the bottom
c) You would be taken to a screen where you will have option to enable registry editor for your current privilege status.
d) As we can see the access to registry editing tool is denied. Set it to disabled and the user should have full access to registry editor again
