As a part of maintenance work recently I have formatted my hard drive and reinstall the Windows Vista. I installed all the drivers and software as before. But I am having problem with the iTunes. When I try to run it indicates some registry errors and also saying that it could be a problem based on other CD burning software.

itunes setup assistant warning

iTunes Setup Assistant

Warning!

The registry settings users by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes

But I can ensure you that there is no other burning software on my pc. I searched for help on online iTunes support but failed to find any solution. I am not a tech person and really need someone to help me out here.

There is nothing more you can do but to reinstall the iTunes again, so that its device filter will get back in place.  For Windows XP, Vista and 7, to reinstall the iTunes, you have to remove all its components including quicktime and all of it's other components. If the problem still keeps on prompting "Warning! The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes." It is better to install the device filter on the windows registry.

For the instructions, just read this content, https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT204275. It will give you much more idea on how to fix these kind of problem. It includes step by step process that will surely solve your problem. Try it! hope it helps.

The itunes usually installed manually depends on how you run it.

Sometimes, there's a key that you uncheck or check upon installing it.

Install it back by not using local network attach.

Maybe it updated the driver and not knowingly file updated is corrupted because of a split second connection problem of your internet. So, run your installer by unplugging your internet.

If there's still a problem, then the installer maybe the cause of the interrupted installation.
