Reinstall Disk Defragmenter on Windows XP
Hi,
Unfortunately Microsoft don't offer an installation package for the software its attached to windows .
There is some solutions follow those steps:
-
Try to open it from C:WINDOWSsystem32diskmgmt.msc
-
You have two software installed with windows to manage your disks :
First   : C:WINDOWSsystem32dfrg.msc
Second:Â Â C:WINDOWSsystem32diskmgmt.msc
-
If it didn't work don't do any thing could damage your system.
-
You can use them both to do everything in disks management.
-
If this is not working you have to install similar software.
-
You can found much free software in the net like partition magic.
Here is the link for the software.
It is similar to Disk Defragmenter.
Reinstall Disk Defragmenter on Windows XP
You can first check that there is no error in your PC and there is no Virus in your PC then you can run a Disk Defragment on your drive. If there is some virus in your computer then it may not allow you to run a Disk Defragment in this case you need to first check that virus and then you can run the Disk Defragment.
Also make sure that you have almost 25% FREE disk space on which you want to run disk defragment. To first check your disk go to start and then click on RUN here type cmd and press enter or press ok. Now in new DOS window write chkdsk and press enter now see what happens this process will check your disk and make it error free once done now you are able to run the disk defragment.
It is also very easy to reinstall disk defragment if you have deleted it from your computer in most cases it is located in Add remove programs under windows components also you can install it from your windows CD.
