I have worked with Windows 7 and I have really liked it compared to Vista and XP. My computer is always very fast especially when I am starting it. The same applies to the applications.
However, today I had a wired problem with my PC as it took long to boot. I had to reinstall/repair Windows 7. Is there anyone with the same experience as mine?
Kindly advice.
Reinstall/ repair window 7 compared to VIsta and XP
Hello Christopher,
Your system may have slowed down, possibly due to some changes you recently made to it. For instance, installing a new application that is memory intensive, or installing updates that may have taken a lot of memory space. Or your computer has been attacked by a virus that is responsible for slowing it down.
I will suggest that you restore the system, to a previous state before it started slowing down using the system restore utility. Just click on start and then type system restore in the search field and then press enter on the keyboard. In the window that will open, choose the restore point and then execute system restore. It will remove any programs or virus that may be slowing down the system.

Hello Christopher,
Do you have a great number of programs launching at startup? To check this, you see many icons in the notification section of the taskbar when starting up. This will slow the speed of your system's startup. You can prevent unnecessary programs launching at startup by changing the settings in each program.
To see the list of programs launching at startup, go to start and in the search box type mscofig and enter. Select msconfig.exe in the search result. Now go to the startup tab, you will see the list of programs that starts at system startup, uncheck any programs you don't want to run at startup.

Hello,
Simply check your BIOS, if it running fine on your operating system or maybe the version of your BIOS is not well-matched to your OS. Download a different version of your BIOS and then just defrag your machine. To go there, go to the start menu and select My computer and then right click the drive.
Select properties and then go to the tools setting.  You can see the defragmentation to fix any file or data to your computer. After you defrag your computer, if it still does not work , scan your PC if it infected with any viruses or spyware.
