Hi,
I'm always out traveling but I want to monitor my home as if I'm in it.
My idea was to use my computer's webcam to view what is happening in my house.
How will I be able to control my webcam remotely so I can view the entire house using just my keyboard several miles away from home.
Remotely Control My Web Cam
Hello Arturo.
Your idea of using your computer webcam as a security camera will work.Â
All you need is this open source camera security software called iSpy. See for yourself what it can do on their website:
Consider its features:
1. Being able to use several webcams, IP cameras and microphones for monitoring your home.
2. Being able to remotely access and control all the webcams, IP cameras and microphones that you have configured for iSpy. By "remotely access" I mean you can do all of it either from a web browser or your mobile phone.
3. It can be setup to send you SMS alerts or MMS alerts with screen captures whenever any sort of movement or sound is detected.
Hope this helps!
