Removing slide control box in PowerPoint

For the jeopardy games review I use PowerPoint to make presentation file. But after updating my office to 2008 version (MAC) I can’t click anywhere in it. But I can move the slide control box though I am unable to get rid of in the lower left hand side. I can only move this to forward or reverse. There are buttons to click back to game board, answer, etc. can anyone tell me how can I remove this linear slide control box  and click on the slide proper?

Removing slide control box in PowerPoint

Hi Arnold ,

These issues are very common but they are almost uncurable , because you changed not only from an old MS office power point to a new MS office PowerPoint but also changed the OS from windows to mac , Please try searching the internet for latest updates on Microsoft office for MAC , Try updating your Office to 2010 the latest currently available and try to open with that , in 2010 Microsoft office they have added lots of compatibility tools inbuilt so you have less chance of problem occurring while change info from old to new versions.

Try updating it by selecting help -> update
