Robot Drive Motor for Project with 3 DC Geared Motors

Hi experts, iam working on a project for my final year. The project is about robot which will use 3 DC geared motors and will be operated using gsm module over a long distance. I need help in a motor driving part. Can anybody guide me here?

Robot Drive Motor for Project with 3 DC Geared Motors

 

Hello Eric,

I appreciate your choice of the robot. Regarding DC motors, you can make your own H-bridge circuit to operate them according to your needs and requirements. If you do not need to mess up with the motor driving circuit, then you can use a moto-driving IC as a shortcut. L293D and L298D are the good choice as a motor driver IC.

Eric,

In DC motor driving part you must consider some conditions corresponding to the operation of you DC motors. Actually, it depends on the actuator that you used in your design and depending on its characteristics and the IC you use. Here are some conditions you must consider and hope it will help you:

1.   The power dissipation of the motor

2.   Its maximum Input and Output Voltage

3.   Drive Current

4.   Decay mode and Breaking

5.   Thermal Protection
