Now that on-premise applications are transferred to cloud, what role will the IT department play in the cloud era and how will the cloud be structured so that an enterprise can only access its data without interfering with other companies.

Role of IT department in cloud computing

We all know that cloud computing is becoming more and more popular. Hence, many people are becoming more interested in using Cloud Computing. If ordinary people are becoming more interested in using cloud computing, how much more are those who know how to manipulate online files (Intruders).

A role that the IT department can play is, defending the company's data. They could use different security measures in protecting important data. Protecting it from damage, intruders, and other negative elements that can harm your company's important data. As long as there is technology, IT will never run out of roles.

You were asking about how an Enterprise can access its data without interfering with other companies? Typically, the one's that only know the company's files are its employees. It is your responsibility as an employee of the company to take care of the files (Especially the important ones) not to be publicized.

Role of IT department in cloud computing

 

Information Technology department plays a big role in cloud computing. Their job is to maintain iCloud server and it's application. They'll need to create best security features that protect the iCloud web server.

 

Data protection is important, so this has to be addressed by IT department. Mostly the availability of the data stored has to be ready for download, hence IT department must ensure that there are no unpredictable data interruptions are being intercept.

 

They should ensure, there are no logs and must audit all data saved and stored. Should have no missing and misplaced data and they should act like an investigator every now and then.
