I am trying to use Chem4Word add-in for word on my Windows Vista ultimate machine.
I am totally new to this and trying to learn it step by step. When I try to insert anything in my regular Word document, I get the following error message.
worker_RunWorkerCompletes: The method or operation is not implemented.
If I click Ok, on the error message it does not take me anywhere. Again when I try to perform the same action, I receive the error message.
Any help on this is appreciated.

RunWorkerCompleted, the operation is not implemented error
Hi Karenwilson,
You are using windows VISTA, as such. First of all please be advised that the Chem4Word installation should be done, by using setup.exe to install the Chemistry Add-In instead of Chem4Word.Setup.msi.
-
First uninstall the application, and then re-install using the setup.exe.
-
After Installation, you need to activate the application.
-
Open add-ins task pane (File->Options->Add-ins.
-
Select chemistry add-in for word and click the “Go” button to activate the add-in.
It should be working fine.

If you are using the Chem4Word add-in on Microsoft Office Word, make sure you are using it on a supported operating system and version of Microsoft Office Word. If you are using Microsoft Windows Vista, I don’t think you will be able to install the latest version. If you receive that error, it probably means you are using version 3 of the add-in which is the latest.
And since it doesn’t support Windows Vista, the add-in will never work even if you have a supported version of Microsoft Office Word. Try using version 2 instead. Try downloading Chem4Word Version 2 then see if it works on your Windows Vista. The latest version at the moment is Chem4Word Version 3. It supports Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.
It requires Microsoft Office Word 2010, Microsoft Office Word 2013, or Microsoft Office Word 2016. Microsoft Internet Explorer 11, I think, is the only supported web browser.
