Hi all,
I have been using a Samsung Galaxy S2 and I understand that it has its own email app. I was just wondering if I could uninstall the default email app since I am using Gmail anyway. It’s annoying when I see the email app icon popping along with every contact registered in my phone even if I am not using it. I hope you can help me. Thank you.
Samsung Galaxy Problem Any help Please
Hi Fredy Jason,
The default email application in Samsung Galaxy S2 cannot be removed because it is basically included in the system requirement. Â If you try to remove it the Operating System might be affected or can make the it Unstable for the Operating System. Might also affected other Google applications but your Phone can still call, send or receive text messages.
Hope this could help you,
Thanks

The built-in Email Application in your Samsung Galaxy S2 is just a tool. Actually you can remove it you know how to access your phone with the use of cables and application to be connected in a computer. This requires skills in cell phone technician. This application is the same with Microsoft Outlook, you can put your email address on that application with your pop server so that your cell phone can access your received mails as well as sending mails.
It is better not to remove the application because when removing it, you might encounter some errors on your phone operating system. Better to stay what you have to remove applications that you are not using.

You cannot uninstall them without rooting because all the vendors apps are installed to a directory that cannot be accessed without root.
But, Yes, you can uninstall the default apps . But for that you have to ROOT your device. After you root your device , install Titanium Backup  from this link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup. After you have installed the Titanium Backup. Use Titanium backup to backup your app as the loss of the default app may cause loss of some other default features of the app. Like if you remove Gmail or contacts , there will definitely be problems with your contacts and there will be a lot of SYNC errors.
And Yes one more thing, if you don't want to ROOT your device as it results in the loss of warranty from the vendor , you can install some custom Launcher  like LauncherPro . As you said that you are just annoyed by the email app icon popping . For that ,after you have installed the launcher , you will have the ability to hide the app icons. You can hide the Email app icon from there.
Thanks,
