When we receive an email, it consists of a header which informs us about the sender, and the text message. Often we can get spam messages, and if we want to report about it, there is a need of IP address. Gmail hides the real IP address of the sender, so it is hard to find it. GMAIL:
1) Sign into your Gmail account.
2) To see the email header, click on the inverted triangle and go to show original.
3) Search ‘Received: from’. [ ] contains the IP address.
Example:Received: from [59.139.52.1] by [email protected]
4) If there are more than one received from, select the last one.
YAHOO:
1) Sign into your account.
2) Go to the mail you want to track and select more, then select view full header.
3) Search ‘Received: from’. [ ] contains the IP address. If you see many, select the last one. If you see none select the first IP address in X-Originating-IP.
