Hello! I want to know how I can save a GIF image on my computer and set it as my desktop background. According to my knowledge a GIF image is the one in which things move, right? I may be wrong because I do not have a lot of computer knowledge. What I know is that the images which move in such a way are called GIF images and today I found one and wanted to save it and set as my desktop background. How is this possible?

Hello,

GIF files contain a few frames that are shown like a video, making things move inside it. In order to use GIF files in desktop,

1. Right-click on the GIF file.

2. Select “Set as desktop background”.

But unfortunately, those movement can’t be visible in the desktop as Windows doesn’t support animated theme.

Yes, you are right. GIF is used for low resolution video clips or for small animations.

It is possible with Windows XP to set up .gif files as your desktop background but not with Windows 7.

For Windows 7 you can try downloading DreamScene Activator, which is compatible with only .MPG and .WMV formats.

Enable DreamScene Avtivator.

Download the .GIF file, convert it to .MPG or .WMV format using DreamScene Activator and set as background.
