Saving a picture from a website

Hello, I found a picture from a website I want to use but I want to be sure I do it correct. Do I need to find the website owner and ask for permission? Can I save the photo? Am I able to edit it using a photo editor? It is just an outdoor landscape so no people but it is what I am looking for. Thank you.

Saving a picture from a website

Actually, it is quite alright to download the picture, save it and edit it as long as the particular web site has not restricted downloading it and there is no mention to prevent a similar act. However, it is advisable to contact the web site owner and seek for advice if you are having any further doubt.
