At times, when you see this type of error check the size of ReadyBoot and the ReadyBoot needed. The error indicates the maximum file size for session ‘ReadyBoot’ has been reached, which may result in loss of events. The Windows 7 has that ReadyBoot Dll file to 20MB. It’s better that you don’t download it above 256mb. How to check go to search menu type performance Monitor, on your left side you will see a expand DATA COLLECTORS SETS click on STARTUP EVENT TRACES you will find a list on your right side double click READYBOOT. You need to stop condition to set the size you want then press Ok, close and reboot the system. You can also look at C:\Windows\preferch\Readyboot” to know the size of the Ready boot file.

The full error reads, “Session “ReadyBoot” stopped due to the following error: 0xC0000188.” You may see this message in the Event Viewer. This error is logged before the first user ever logs into the computer during OOBE when the “ReadyBoot” session log reaches the maximum file size located in “C:\Windows\Prefetch\ReadyBoot\ReadyBoot.etl”.

In a normal boot or session, the “Superfetch” process terminates this process before the log file exceeds the maximum limit. If you see this message in the Event Viewer, you don’t have to do anything to fix it. Even if this error is logged into the system, it will not affect the operation of the machine.

“ReadyBoot” is used by the “ReadyBoost” service which optimizes the boot time of your computer to a minimum.
