What's the name for a set of hardware that connects one computer to other computers and peripheral devices, enabling the user to share data and resources with other computers?

A set of hardware that connects one computer to other computers?

It is called the Local Area Network (LAN).

It is a system that links one computer to several computers in close proximity to each other and serves users within a confined area such as in an office building, a school or a home.

It is composed of a group of computers that are connected to a server and the server acts as the gateway in accessing the internet. It is useful for sharing different resources like files, printers, games and other applications that are available within the network.

Each computer can share individual folders located in their respective terminals. Each computer is connected by a UTP cable which then connects the computer to a hub.

All the cables of the computers go to the hub. The hub then is connected to the router where the server is connected.

The router serves as the traffic controller for the data coming from all of the computers.

You need to have a network setup to be able to do this.

You need computers that have network cards, either LAN cards or WLAN cards so that it can connect to the network.

You need a router or a switch to route the traffic in your network.

Your router should have a DHCP server to facilitate the assigning of IP addresses.

You need to have operating systems that support file sharing on the network and be sure to configure your firewalls and permissions properly to have a seamless communication and data availability on the network.

And you need Ethernet cables and a wireless router or access point to connect these devices.
