Hi,

I recently purchased an iPhone 4. I see a lot of features in it, like setting up of my email account but somehow,

I am unable to do so.

Will appreciate if someone can give an insight on this.

Hi,

To begin using your mail account, on your iPhone, you first need to add the account to your iPhone.

To do so follow the below steps:

1. Open the Mail icon by tapping it.
2. Look for your account type. If it's not available then choose Other.
3. Next, fill in your account details and save it.

Your mail is now setup for use.

Thanks.

It worked just fine for me, as I was setting up my Gmail account on it.

As I am mostly away from my laptop, can you tell me, if I can setup multiple accounts on my iPhone?

iPhone is like a palm top for its customers.

You can easily setup, multiple accounts on your iPhone by following these steps :

  1.     Tap on the settings icon.
  2.     Go to Mail,Contacts and Calendar option under it.
  3.     Then click add an account.
  4.     Follow all the previous mentioned steps to setup your new account.
  5.     You can add as many accounts as you want following these steps.

Thanks for your prompt response.

Another concern – I have heard from a lot of other iPhone users that their mailbox gets locked,

while accessing the mails from different devices.

What is the solution for this problem?

There are different ways to resolve this problem.

  • You can close your mail account on your computer, when you are not accessing it.
  • You can alter the mail fetch interval, between your laptop/desktop and your iPhone. This can be done, by using the 'fetch new data' option under the settings icon.
  • If still the mail account gets locked, then quit the mail client from all the devices. Go to the home screen of your iPhone. Wait for around 10 mins or more and try logging in again.
