I am constantly pestered by the certificate enrollment notification, and I have to waste my time thinking about it. Can’t my computer do certificate auto-enrollment? How can I set it up?

Windows is completely capable of distributing the certificates without the awareness of the client while enrolling them. The computer and user issued certificates fall under this category. I have provided the steps for configuring auto enrollment for a domain.

  1. Go to Group Policy Management from the Administrative Tools and double-click the Group Policy Objects in the console tree.
  2. The point on the Default Domain Policy and right click it to edit.
  3. On the Security Settings, double-click on Auto Enrollment and check the boxes positively.
  4. Accept the changes by clicking OK.
